Competing Plans in 2021

As promised, I will be using my website and this Blog for sharing my prep updates and competing plans this season with you. If you have any questions or would like me to cover something in more detail, please get in touch with me.


A little background info... Last year, after not being able to compete at the Arnold Australia in March due to Covid, I decided to take the year off and see what a full year away from the stage can do to my physique.


I started dieting in December, simply because I felt like my body lost its responsiveness, my body fat levels were borderline too high, I started to have niggles, to feel sluggish and my recovery suffered. I will talk about this in another post, as I feel like this is something not many competitors share.


I flew to Hungary to visit my family for Xmas but when lockdown hit the UK and my first return flight to the UK was cancelled, I decided to stay there. In the meantime, I had news about potential shows, so we were on and off prep for a few weeks, but continued to aim for fat loss and to get in a good position for when we have a confirmed show date.


So far, I dropped 6kg since we started, whilst we managed to keep my cardio low, push my food back up slightly and have a couple of off plan meals, too. We now have an idea of what shows we would like to aim for and so after a deload last week, I am now fully committed to prep. I will reveal all my show plans soon, at the moment I am definitely wanting to do the Portugal Pro show in July but potentially looking at earlier dates, too.


Here is my latest check in, body weight is currently just under 68kg, so we reckon we have another 8-9kg to go. I am doing 15 mins bike intervals 5 times a week, training split is Push / Back / Rest / Legs / Rest and food is on a relatively good level (I'm not someone how can diet on high calories :)). Zero assistance at the moment, I'm just making sure that all the boxes are ticked with the best possible effort.


Every day I wake up and I tell myself the following:


"Another day you get to do what you love. Empty the tank."
